The 7 Klaviyo flows every Shopify store should have running (and the order to build them)

In short

  • Flows are emails sent automatically when someone does something (subscribes, abandons checkout, buys). Built once, they sell every day.
  • Build the ones closest to purchase first: abandoned checkout, welcome and browse abandonment.
  • A good flow isn’t a chain of discounts: the first email reminds and answers doubts; any incentive comes last.

Most Shopify stores on Klaviyo send campaigns and maybe a half-built welcome flow. These are the seven flows we set up for every brand, in priority order.

  • Abandoned checkout: three emails at 1 hour, 1 day and 48–72 hours.
  • Welcome: deliver what you promised, then tell your story and show best sellers with reviews.
  • Browse abandonment: one email a few hours after viewing a product.
  • Post-purchase: thank, explain what happens next, ask for a review after delivery.
  • Replenishment or cross-sell: remind before the product runs out, or suggest what pairs with it.
  • Winback: a short series for customers inactive for 90–180 days.
  • Sunset: stop emailing people who never open, to protect deliverability.

Campaigns sell on the day you send them. Flows sell every day.
