Christmas 2026 ecommerce calendar: key dates, shipping cut-offs and what to do each week

In short

• The season is ten weeks, not one day: Singles’ Day (11 Nov), Black Friday (27 Nov), Cyber Monday (30 Nov), Christmas and, in Spain, Three Kings’ Day (6 Jan 2027).
• The date that decides December sales isn’t a promotion: it’s the last order day for delivery before the 24th. Show it on the store from 1 December.
• Whatever isn’t ready by mid-November waits until January. Peak weeks are for selling, not launching.

Between late October and early January many brands make a huge share of their yearly sales, yet most only plan Black Friday and improvise Christmas. In December customers don’t buy on price, they buy on delivery time. This is the calendar we follow with our brands, with the 2026 dates.

Key dates for Christmas 2026

• Wednesday 11 November · Singles’ Day. Warm up your email list before Black Friday.
• Friday 27 November · Black Friday. Monday 30 November · Cyber Monday.
• Tuesday 1 December · gift season starts: people stop hunting discounts and start looking for presents.
• Thursday 17 and Monday 21 December · our suggested cut-offs for standard and express delivery in mainland Spain.
• Wednesday 6 January 2027 · Three Kings’ Day. Thursday 7 January · the traditional start of the January sales.

Until 15 November: prepare the store and the list

Pick five to ten hero products, fix the mobile product page, create a gift bundle and a digital gift card, and grow your email list with early access. Our full technical checklist is in how to prepare your Shopify store for Black Friday. After 15 November, no theme changes or new apps.

December: sell gifts, not discounts

• A gift guide collection ordered by person or by price.
• A visible cut-off date in the header and on the product page.
• Extended returns for December purchases until mid-January.
• Gift wrap and a gift note option in the cart.

How to calculate your Christmas shipping cut-off

Start from 24 December, subtract your carrier’s transit time in working days and your picking time, then add a day of margin. With one day to prepare and 24–72 hour standard delivery, an order placed on Thursday 17 ships on Friday 18 and arrives by Wednesday 23 at the latest. For the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla, customs add time: aim for around 10 December.

In December nobody buys the cheapest product. They buy the one they’re sure will arrive on time.
